The answer is a resounding “yes”. While a number of companies and industries have started layoffs, especially tech and financial service companies, other industries are still in dire need of people. Advertising and marketing, healthcare, retail, food and hospitality, computer (cybersecurity, data science and artificial intelligence) and service companies are still in need of workers.

Many companies have expectations that hiring will become a lot easier as we potentially enter a recessionary period. If we enter a “true recession”, whereby many more jobs are eliminated and layoffs accelerate, they will be correct, however so far while we have seen a number of layoffs, many companies are still hiring and cannot find enough talent which is affecting their ability to grow.

We recommend that depending upon your business needs, that you continue to offer hybrid working conditions, if you are able to, as job flexibility is still one of the most significant issues that candidates are concerned about when changing jobs.
