ESG Investments are in public and private markets.

The type of investments include alternative investments-private equity, venture capital, real estate, and hedge funds have become the most popular within the impact investing space.

Another significant area of ESG investing is community investing,to serve the poor and underserved communities. These investments are typically made through community development banks, loan and venture capital funds and credit unions.
An additional area that can be invested for ESG is Mutual Funds and ETF’s. The prospectus for the fund will advise of social responsibility or corporate governance issues in the portfolio.

When family offices own shares in companies, they have the rights as shareholders to comment on company actions and policies that may be of concern. We suggest looking at the website for those companies that you invest in, and more specifically at the investor relations, sustainability or governance sections.
