The growth of Family Offices internationally is changing the ways in which they operate.

Due to the significant growth of family offices all across the globe, they are becoming more complex and much more sophisticated. With multiple locations, and cross border family offices there has been a substantial change in the way that they operate. Many of the family offices today, are operating like Registered Investment Advisors. In addition, a significant amount of family offices are merging with other family offices to gain economies of scale.

Another key area of change has been the way that family offices are doing their investing. They are constantly looking for higher yields on their investments and are doing much more direct investing in private equities and real estate.

Family Offices are now being run more like other businesses taking into account: succession planning, exit strategies, cybersecurity, risk management, human capital, efficiencies of scale, best operating practices and legal ramifications.
