As part of our continuing series on getting back to the office after the pandemic, we would like to summarize the three major approaches that getting back to the office will look like. Based upon significant surveys that we have conducted, over 60% of companies surveyed said that they will not consider a full office return until September.

For those requiring a full return to the office, they will have to have in place all of the proper protocols to ensure that all employees are safe at work. The considerations include:

a) Does your current headcount allow for safe distancing

b) Can workers arrive at pre-arranged schedules so that they can stagger the headcount and also ensure safer public traveling

c) Have you prepared a budget to revise your workspace

d) Do you have safety and physical distancing policies in place at your office (including signs, masks, disinfectants, shields, etc.)

e) Can you convert additional areas to be used to support social distancing

f) Have you discussed coming back to the office with your employees

g) Do you have devices to take everyone’s temperature before they enter the facility

h) Will you require that each employee has to be vaccinated to go back to the office (a controversial issue)

These and other factors should be taken into consideration prior to requiring your employees to return to the office.
